Scenarios

Frameworks answer questions. Scenarios answer situations.

TL;DR

Four playbooks that cut across all frameworks — each maps a real enterprise situation to the specific pages, decisions, and sequences you need to work through it. Start here if you know what you're trying to do, not which framework covers it.

The four frameworks (BOLT, SCALE-OPS, DIALOGE, SHIELD) each cover a distinct domain. But real enterprise situations don't stay inside one framework. Setting up a CoE touches SCALE-OPS, BOLT, and SHIELD. Enabling citizen development touches BOLT, SHIELD, and DIALOGE. Going live touches DIALOGE, SHIELD, and SCALE-OPS.

These scenarios map those cross-framework journeys so you can follow the right sequence, in the right order, without reading everything.

The Four Scenarios

Scenario Situation Frameworks
Launch a CoE Starting or formalising a Centre of Excellence SCALE-OPS · BOLT · SHIELD
Enable Citizen Development Safely opening the platform to business-led delivery BOLT · SHIELD · DIALOGE
Security Review Before Go-Live Assessing a solution before production release SHIELD · DIALOGE · BOLT
ALM at Scale Building repeatable delivery pipelines across teams DIALOGE · SCALE-OPS · BOLT

How to Use These Scenarios

Each scenario page:

  1. States the situation and who it applies to
  2. Identifies the sequence of decisions to work through
  3. Links to the specific framework pages in the right order
  4. Surfaces the most common mistakes and how to avoid them

They are not step-by-step tutorials. They are structured paths through existing framework content — removing the guesswork about where to start and what order things need to happen in.

Not Sure Which Scenario Fits?
